Birmingham Press Club and CIPR Midlands have teamed up to host ‘The Midlands Media Challenge’, a pub-style quiz which aims to find the region’s brainiest PRs and journalists.

The world’s oldest press club and the public relations membership organisation will stage the charity event on Tuesday, 13 September, at Nuvo cocktail bar and piano lounge, BrindleyPlace, Birmingham city centre.

TV stalwart Bob Warman, who is President of the Press Club, has agreed to be question master for the evening, with proceeds going to Midlands Air Ambulance.

Press Club chairman John Lamb said: “Journalists and PRs often enjoy a tussle with each other over stories with their day jobs. This will be an entertaining way for the media to get their own back, while helping raise money for a good cause.”

CIPR Midlands committee chair Jo McCarthy said: “It will be fun to watch the region’s PR agencies trying to outdo each other, let alone prove they’re brainier than the media. And it’s a great opportunity for PR practitioners and journalists to mix.”

CIPR Midlands and Birmingham Press Club are calling for teams of four to enter, requesting a donation of £12 per person to enter. All entrants will receive a free cocktail of their choice on arrival with complimentary food during the interval, donated by main sponsor Nuvo. There will be prizes for the top three teams and a raffle.

If you’re interested in entering a team for the great ‘Midlands Media Challenge’, book your team’s place by visiting www.midlandsmediachallenge.eventbrite.com.
