Birmingham (Press Club, That Is) Secures Barclays Premier League Trophy

Fans of Aston Villa and Birmingham City FC can get their hands on the Barclays Premier League trophy – even if neither club wins the title this season.

It will be on show at this month’s Midlands Press Ball and guests will also have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with the famous trophy.

The Ball, hosted by Birmingham Press Club and jointly sponsored by Birmingham Airport and East Midlands Airport, takes place at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham, on Friday, October 29.

Barclays Corporate, which is also supporting the event, has arranged for the Barclays Premier League Trophy to be on display at the Ball.

“I am sure that guests who are football fans will jump at the chance of being photographed with the Trophy given that they may have to wait a little time before fans of Blues and Villa get their hands on it as winners,” said Press Club Chairman John Lamb.

A framed signed photograph of the Blues’ current first team squad, donated by Birmingham City FC, will be auctioned at the Ball in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice and the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance, both of which will also benefit from the proceeds of a raffle.
