16 April 2008
Frank Leath, Birmingham Press Club's oldest member, passed away on April 12 at the age of 87. Our commiserations go to his family. Frank always took an interest in Press Club affairs and was the proud owner of a full set of club ties. His funeral will be on April 24 at 11:15 at St Giles Church, Wenlock Road, Shrewsbury. Attached is the obituary which appeared in the Shropshire Star.
Frank is survived by two sons. Ian, the eldest, is an aerospace director, and Martin is a retired schoolteacher. He had no direct connection with the media but joined Birmingham Press Club when he was secretary of APEX (Associaton of Executives) on Hagley Road and on West Midlands Health Authority in the city.
