Get connected!

The Birmingham Press Club is a unique organisation – it is the only one of its kind that brings together members of the media industry in the West Midlands with the corporate sector.

The Club has a packed social programme (click here for full details) and is THE place for anyone who wants to meet the region’s journalists.

In fact, for anyone who has an interest in the media in the West Midlands, either as a journalist, or someone who needs to keep in touch with what’s going on in the region’s newspapers, magazines, television, radio and online media, can you afford NOT to be a member?

Ordinary membership is available at the very reasonable price of £55 plus VAT (£66) – for that, you get discounted tickets for our various events, including celebrity lunches, the annual ball, and the Christmas lunch.

You also get first call on events such as ‘meet the media’, our media networking events, and are also able to take advantage on our ‘First Thursday’ networking events (which are FREE to paid-up members).

Members will also receive their own personal Gastro Card (normally £30 per year), which allows holders to take advantage of some great discounts and offers are a host of top restaurants across the UK, including many in the West Midlands.

For full-time working journalists, membership of the Press Club is FREE.

NEW – student membership

We recognise how important it is to encourage those who are just coming in to the media industry, and have therefore introduced a student membership scheme for just £10 (£12 including VAT).

This scheme is open to all full-time students on recognised journalism or media courses – anyone joining on this basis will be able to take advantage of all the benefits open to ordinary members.

PLEASE NOTE:

The Press Club membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Anyone whose renewal date does not correspond with those dates should contact the membership secretary to negotiate a pro-rata rate to bring them into line (this is to ensure everyone gets maximum benefit from the Gastro Card). This cannot be done via the online payment system.

Also, anyone joining the Press Club more than half way through the membership year will be entitled to do so at a discounted rate - however, their membership will still expire on the following 31 March.

If anyone has any queries about this, please contact the membership secretary, Adrian Kibbler (0121 459 6213 or adrian@akpr.ltd.uk)

IMPORTANT: CHANGES TO PERSONAL DETAILS

Could anyone whose personal details change - such as place of work, address, or phone number - please ensure that they inform the Press Club's membership secretary, Adrian Kibbler. This is in order to update our database, which will ensure you continue to receive important correspondence from the Press Club about events and other matters. Adrian can be contacted on 0121 459 6213 or email adrian@akpr.ltd.uk
